Customer Rating: Summary: Comes in a plastic bag Comment: I'm giving this to someone as a gift, so I haven't used the product yet, but I am disappointed in the packaging--or rather the lack thereof. I don't want the gift recipient to think I bought this thing at a yard sale. I find it hard to believe it doesn't come in a product box with pictures and a description--that's what I expected and all I got was a plastic bag. Customer Rating: Summary: Works great! Comment: This product works great. There are a couple of minor caveats, though.
1) It needs the full strength of your garage door opener bulb. I mounted my unit on the bottom side of the opener, with the solar panel directly under the bulb and it works fine. You may need to experiment to find the best mounting position.
2) Take the crummy tape that's on the unit and replace it with some heavy duty 3M tape. It's not a question of IF the original tape will come loose, it's WHEN. Do yourself a favor and replace it now and you won't have any problems.
3) I chose to mount the laser on the side of the opener instead of on the ceiling. It looks neater without that wire running up to the ceiling, and it works fine.
I'm ordering another one of these for my 3rd garage bay. Very good product!
