Customer Rating: Summary: Works like magic on UST or tubeless mountain bike tires Comment: Like the other reviewer I too only saw a temporary fix (it got me home-over 15 miles and held air for a couple of days) when using this product with a tube/tire combination. I later tried it on two different Continental brand UST tubeless mountain bike tires and was amazed to find that it will provide a perminate fix for large holes (example: large hole 1/32 inch in diameter created when I removed a thorn from the tire). After removing the thorn and the UST tubeless tire went flat, I inflated it with this product and made sure the hole was at the lowest point of the rim so the liquid patch material would flow through the hole. The material leaked out for a short time and then stopped. I then inflated the tire to 32 psi and have been riding it for about a year now.
The tubless tire has a soft tackey rubber liner and a rigid casing that allows the liquid to vocanize and permantly bind to the casing - something not possible with the much thinner/flexing tube in a tube/tire combination.
PS: I now also use a can of this product when first mounting an UST tire as it seals very slow leaks that just seem to be part of the UST tire system - I no longer have to add air for mysterious "air blead". Customer Rating: Summary: Works Great Comment: I had to use this product a few days ago. My rear tire on my bicycle developed a small leak and almost went flat. I was 10 miles away from home. I proceeded to fill my tire with fix-a-flat and it did it advertised. It fixed the leak enough for me to make it all the way home. I then changed the tube and discovered a small hole in it. This product worked, and I immediately ordered 2 more cans. Customer Rating: Summary: Good emergency fix Comment: I've used Fix-A-Flat 3 times in emergency flat bike tire situations. Twice it's worked like a charm. The first time I filled up the tire with the stuff and biked around on it for several days before it finally gave out and I got the tube replaced. The second time it didn't work because the hole in my tube and tire were too large and the Fix-A-Flat just sprayed right out. The third time it worked perfectly again for 2 days before I got the tube replaced.
Basically it works very well in an emergency flat situation as long as you have a small puncture.
