This resistor does exactly what it says it does. Less resitance for easier starting and more to keep things from frying. If you made a mistake and chopped up that rubbery little red wire that is so dirty that you can't see that it says "DON'T CUT OR SPLICE", get one of these resistors. VERY WELL WORTH IT.
