Customer Rating: Summary: Color plating is fragile Comment: I suppose it may be difficult to make a metallic red plating that is tough, so it may not be fair to complain about it. But, you should be aware that the color is fairly fragile. The spline driver scrapes some of the red off along the splines. But, you can't see that anyway. So as long as you are careful not to scratch the head part of the lug, it should be okay. Mine look okay and you can't tell that the spline area is scratched. I've seen some lugnuts with just a colored cap, and that might make better sense.
Also, while spline drive lugnuts are "sort of" locking, meaning that somebody couldn't easily steel the wheels without a spline driver, but, a good crook would probably have a spline driver. So its not that secure. it would be better if it was more of a true lock, where you don't have the same key as anybody else.
Finally, I should have got the 1.5 length instead of the 1.25 length. that was my mistake. They look a bit recessed into the wheel, so, check to see what length you need.
