Customer Rating: Summary: CP7612 load tester Comment: Does what it's supposed to do, however, it does not place a 100A load on a battery as the specs suggest -- I tested around 45-50A. Great for warming up your hands on a cold day too! Just don't hold the switch for longer than 15 seconds or the element will get WHITE HOT! It proved to be reliable, simple and effective in troubleshooting battery's problem. I bought this one for personal use, and this one saved me a lot of time and money already. Customer Rating: Summary: Actron Battery Load Tester Comment: I bought this today at a local auto supply house at a cost of $60.00 plus $3.00 state sales tax. Obviously Amazons' price is much better, but I wanted it NOW to test a battery that had been drawn down to 2 volts. I had charged the battery and brought in back to a steady 12.75 which is where it should be, but I wanted to determine if it would hold a charge. The Actron took just 10 seconds to verify I should be able to trust the battery OK. And not have to buy a new one. So in the end, it saved me $52.00, as the new battery costs $115.00. expensive I know, it is a Harley Davidson motorcycle battery. Customer Rating: Summary: Quality Comment: The item is cheaply made and actually does not measure accurately and correctly. My item measure with 1v or 1.5v in some instances lower than actual voltage. Customer Rating: Summary: battery load tester Comment: The Actron CP7612 battery load tester works well and gives reliable info regarding battery performance. The only caveat is to remember the unit gets quite hot and following the instructions specifically in terms of how long to leave the unit "on" is important to avoid overheating.
