Customer Rating: Summary: Good deal in a small package Comment: Bought this CB for trail use. I like that it is compact so it is easy to find a mounting place. It works well and I have had no problems out of it. If you want a simple CB in a small package, this is the one for you. Customer Rating: Summary: 2ways Comment: Easy to install. Customer Rating: Summary: Works, but quality control needs to be better Comment: My first unit had bad popping noises that came from a bad microphone connector on the unit. The 2nd unit I received did not have this problem, but when power is applied it starts on channel 33, the first unit was channel 9 which is what it should start on per the manual. So I really feel you could have some issue that is minor that your unit is not perfect.
Also I attempted to use the unit without a microphone attached and it requires the microphone for the internal speaker to work, kinda a weird design. My other complaint with it is that I believe with it powered down (complete power removed) it should retain the last channel you were on. Having to change the channel every time you turn the car on, I take it between vehicles and use a cigarette light and my cigarette light looses power when the car is off. I like things to go off with the car ignition so I don't have to power things on and off every time I get in the car.
The tuning knob is not of the highest quality, it can jump 2 channels when you click it once, and if you don't click it all way it will start running through the channels. But for the price you are getting it for it does seem to receive well with the Wilson Lil Wil antenna. Can't complain too much for the price, Im happy.
