The USB Serial Adapter is a dongel with a USB A connector on one end, and a DB9M connector on the other. It provides an external plug-and-play RS-232 Male serial connection to your computer's USB "A" host port, or to an external USB hub's downstream port. The onboard, proprietary circuitry under the DB9 hood guarantees 100% compatibility with all serial RS-232 devices. Installation is easy. Simply plug a serial device into the UC-232A adapter and plug the USB port into the computer. No IRQs are needed, so there are no IRQ or Com port conflicts.

Customer Rating: Summary: Installed on VISTA Comment: Tried to follow the installation directions but they were not exact. Just keep looking for "PL2303HXD Vista Driver installer.exe" on the Driver CD and installs in minutes and works well. Customer Rating: Summary: "Easy Installation"- not at all Comment: The installation information was very specific and easy to understand. However, the inclosed CD did not contain anything near the files described on the instructions.
At least they did have a web site that did contain the described file for XP. Customer Rating: Summary: There isn't much to say about a serial-to-USB adapter Comment: There isn't much to say about a serial-to-USB adapter. It works. The product was shipped to me in a timely matter. Great transaction. Thanks. Customer Rating: Summary: Does not work with Vista Comment: The product did not work with Windows Vista and the manufacturer, CP Technologie (NOT Lexar as listed), refuses to provide the correct driver. Refusal to provide a driver is clearly stated on their web site. Zero customer service, zero support so I just wasted my money. Customer Rating: Summary: Works as Stated - Easy to Install Comment: I needed this cable to use with my Garmin Rino 120 because my new laptop didn't have a serial adapter. My first try was to use a similiar product from Radio Shack, but I found the Radio Shack product was very confusing to use and was unstable. I ordered the CP Technologie product from Amazon and it worked great! Also, the CP Tech product was less than half the cost of the Radio Shack product (including shipping).
