Customer Rating: Summary: Unsafe Comment: Go to Radio Shack for this. The converter overheated as it was plugged in and sparked upon connecting the appliance to it (well within the 1600 watts specs). It fortunately burned out prior to damaging anything. Definitely an unsafe product from my point of view. No UL or CE approvals stamped on it. Customer Rating: Summary: Horrible, ruined hairdryer and burnt hair Comment: I used this in the UK running 240 volts for my 1600 watt US hairdryer. The heating element turned to toast and burnt my hair. Customer Rating: Summary: It didn't work and spoilt my coffee maker as well Comment: Well, I am pretty disappointed with this prodcut as it spoilt my new Krups coffee maker as well. Its supposed to take loads of upto 1600 Watts but my 1200 Watt coffee maker was apparently too much for it to handle.
