This is an amazing little charger that literally breathes new life into your failing DeWalt batteries. It revitalizes everything from 9.6 volts through the big 18-volters, but what's so great about this charger is that not only can it be used as a standard quick charger, but if you leave a worn-down battery in for four to 10 hours, the charger conditions the battery with a tune-up mode, and at completion, it automatically converts to trickle charge, so you'll never damage a battery by leaving it in the charger too long.

Diagnostics with LED indicators give you the battery status at a glance: charged, charging, power line problem, replace pack, and battery too hot or too cold. It's got a small footprint, which is always a plus, and the price is look-twice-and-rub-your-eyes cheap.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Summary: DeWALT charger works with Black & Decker & others too
Comment: As my research told me, the DeWALT charger I bought for my Black & Decker cordless drill batteries would work and it does perfectly! In fact it is better than the original B&D charger ever was. It's way faster-1 hour instead of 6 hours/it has LED charge indicator/and it also has a battery recondition function to tweak your old batteries. My original B&D charger had none of these features. I'm glad that I went this route. While I could have just picked up a new cordless drill, and that would be fun to have, my old 12V B&D works like new and I'm back in business for much less $$$ than a cool new drill would have cost. Maybe next time I'll get the cool new drill.

Comment: This charger is working fine, so far. I did shop around for a while before I purchased this one from bayarea tools through Amazon of course. Other stores would price theirs at around $69.00. I got this one for only $14.99 - brand new. For this low price, you can't go wrong. It is a Dewalt charger, I think it will last for the years to come.

Comment: This item worked as good as the broken one I already had. Yeah, it's cheaper then the ones you can buy in the store... but don't buy this one. Spend the extra money and get one from Home Depot or Lowes. I delayed my project 2 more weeks trying to figure out why I couldn't get my batteries charged up.
